5 Quick Tips for Smoother Game Days

5 Quick Tips for Smoother Game Days

Running events is always a juggling act — even for the most experienced organizers. Here are five small wins that can make a big difference on game day:

1. Post QR codes early and often.
Put them at entrances, parking lots, and even your school’s homepage. The more places families can buy tickets ahead of time, the shorter your lines will be.

2. Set up a “fast lane” for digital passes.
Give season pass holders or pre-paid ticket holders a separate line. It rewards early buyers and helps your volunteers move things faster.

3. Train scanners in under 2 minutes.
Have a quick cheat sheet or video to show volunteers how to scan tickets. One quick training before gates open can save you from headaches later.

4. Keep a backup phone charged.
Tech happens. Having one charged phone with the scanning app loaded can be a lifesaver.

5. Assign someone to be the ‘floater.’
One extra person who isn’t tied to a station can troubleshoot, fill in gaps, or direct guests. It’s often the unsung hero of a successful event.
