Lessons Learned: The Sign That Saved Our Entry Line

Sometimes it's the little things.
At our first home football game of the season, we had long entry lines forming before gates even opened. People weren’t sure where to go — ticket buyers, pass holders, and even volunteers were all in the same crowd.
What fixed it? One sign.
We quickly printed two bold signs:
“Tickets & Walk-Ups →”
“Pass Holders & QR Tickets ←”
We hung them with zip ties and pointed volunteers to stand behind them. Almost instantly, the crowd split into two cleaner lines.
It wasn’t high-tech. But it was the most effective 10-minute fix we’ve ever made — and now we reuse the signs for every home game.
Lesson learned: clarity beats cleverness every time.
