How to Scan Tickets
Admittee makes it easy for staff and volunteers to scan tickets right from their smartphones—no special app or equipment required. Whether you’re scanning individual tickets or group tickets, check-in is fast, simple, and accurate.
Accessing the Ticket Scanner
To access the scanner, go to the Event Details page and click the Share button. From there, you can copy a unique link to the Ticket Scanner for that specific event.
You can share this scanner link with any staff or volunteers helping at the door. It works on any smartphone—just open the link in a browser and allow camera access. When scanning, hold the phone’s camera above the ticket’s QR code (either printed or displayed on a phone). The scanner will instantly confirm whether the ticket is valid, already used, or invalid.
Scanning Group Tickets
Admittee also supports Group Tickets, which allow a single QR code to admit multiple people. These are perfect for families, teams, or classroom groups.
When a volunteer scans a group ticket, the scanner will display how many entries are included. The volunteer can then confirm that the entire group is entering together—no need to scan each person individually. This streamlines the process and helps move lines faster while still keeping an accurate headcount.
Real-Time Attendance
While scanning, team members will also see real-time attendance stats. This gives your staff an up-to-date view of how many attendees have arrived and how many are still expected.
Practice with Demo Tickets
Want to test the scanner before the event? In the Event Editor sidebar, look in the lower left corner for demo tickets. These can be scanned using the same Ticket Scanner to help staff and volunteers get comfortable with the process. Refresh the demo section anytime to generate new practice tickets.
Tip: Share the scanner link and demo tickets in advance to train your team before event day—it’ll make check-in smoother for everyone.
